1) Lake Tahoe
There are plenty of amazingly fun activities to do throughout the year at Lake Tahoe. Whether you’re looking to spend sometime at the lake during the summer months or go skiing in the winter. But you definitely don’t want to overlook the stunning fall, when leaves are turning colors. Take a short family-friendly hike, like Rainbow Trail to fully experience the beauty of the area.
2) Reno Riverwalk District
Located in the heart of downtown Reno, this is a perfect stroll through the park on a lunch break kind of opportunity. Spend some time near the water while you enjoy the beautiful fall colors. While you’re here, stop in at one of the many shops for a meal or to just enjoy what Reno has to offer.
3) Lamoille Canyon
If you’re looking for breathtaking, then this is the place for you. Located outside of Elko, Nevada in the northeastern part of the state, Lamoille Canyon is glacier-carved paradise. There are plenty of amazing things to do, from hikes to relaxing next to the river or some of the alpine lakes. But you definitely want to take the scenic drive up to the turnaround.
4) Oxbow Nature Study Area
This 22-acre conservation area is jointly manages by the Nevada Department of Wildlife and the City of Reno. It’s located along the Truckee River, making it a stunning place to see. Here you’ll find native Nevadan habitats and wildlife. Be sure to plan ahead for the full experience of hikes to enjoy the fall around you.
5) Great Basin National Park
Located near Ely, Nevada, Great Basin National Park is a grand adventure you don’t want to miss out on. With stunning views and a wide diversity of plant and animal life, there will be something new to see around every corner. Take a drive on the Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive to experience all the different fall colors.
